Adam’s laburnum, + Laburnocytisus 'Adamii,' is a small deciduous tree, a cross between laburnum and purple broom (Cytisus purpureus). It’s incredibly ornamental, bearing hanging, pea-like flowers in shades of pink as well as bright yellow, followed by long seedpods. The foliage is usually similar to that of a laburnum, but you may find broom-like shoots appearing. Perfect for a small garden, Adam’s laburnum is slow growing, hardy and low maintenance.

To make the most of the display, grow + Laburnocytisus 'Adamii' as a specimen tree in the centre of a lawn or large pot, in moist but well-drained soil in full sun.

Bear in mind that all parts of the tree are toxic to humans and animals when ingested, especially the seed pods. Fatality is rare, however symptoms can include drowsiness, vomiting, convulsions, coma, frothing at the mouth and dilated pupils.
