Plant details
Despite being potentially invasive, this makes a very useful, easy-going, carpeting plant for the right situation. It provides good evergreen ground cover, ideal for anywhere with hot sunny conditions and dry soil, such as a drought garden, large rock feature, in a hollow-topped wall, or for growing through gravel among craggy rocks in a stone garden. Use it also to soften the edges of gravel paths or parking areas, if trodden on or run over, plants are easily tidied and soon replace damaged stems with fresh growth. This is sometimes listed as S. reflexum.
