This eye-catching biennial is a great favourite with flower arrangers who use it to fill out displays. Its leaves are rounded in shape and encircle the stems. They are lime-green at the top of the plant, darkening in colour as they progress down the stem. Small yellowish green flowers appear in summer. Like all biennials, it is best sown in May or June. Plants will flower the following year.
