Plant details

This is a hybrid derived partly from the common snowberry, S. albus var. laevigatus, and sometimes known simply as Doorenbos Hybrids. Like many snowberries, this is grown mainly for its berries, which are white with a distinct pink flush, and very numerous. The comparatively insignificant blush white flowers are attractive on examination, and very popular with bees and other pollinating insects. Although an excellent choice for difficult soils and sites, such as beneath trees, this outstanding hybrid deserves prominence as a specimen shrub. To propagate, take cuttings in summer or autumn.
