Hedge germander, Teucrium x lucidrys, is a drought-resistant, low-growing bushy shrub clothed in dark green crinkly edged, glossy leaves. In early summer, short spires of small pink flowers appear. It's ideal for growing in Mediterranean schemes, as a hedge in sunny, sheltered situations, and is particularly useful in dry soils and gravel gardens. For best results, cut Teucrium x lucidrys back after flowering.
