Plant details

Tropaeolum, known as nasturtiums, are originally from South America and southern Mexico. Many of the nasturtiums climb using their twining leaf stalks. They are mostly available in warm shades of yellows and oranges, and although hardiness varies by species, they all enjoy full sun in mist but well drained soil. They will need to be trimmed back occasionally as can grow quite vigorously. Tropaeolum majus bears flowers up to 5cm wide and bear near round, greyish green leaves. Tropaeolum majus 'Orange Troika' has a semi trailing habit, variegated leaves and produces flowers that are a dark redish-orange.
