Plant details
Darwin hybrid tulips are very vigorous, with the tallest stems and the largest flowers. They are exceptionally impressive varieties, single and with a classic shape, and most flower from mid-April to mid-May, making them ideal for spring bedding, although they also make outstanding cut flowers. 'Beauty of Apeldoorn' is one of the best, setting the standard for the rest, and has a large family of close relatives: 'Apeldoorn's Elite', 'Golden Apeldoorn' and 'Apeldoorn' itself are all worth planting, and there are striped and fringed versions too.
