Plant details

Tulipa praestans and its varieties make a brilliant splash of colour in rock gardens, where they thrive in warm summer conditions if left in permanently. The two outstanding features of these varieties are their vivid brick-red colouring and their ability to produce up to three stems, each with several blooms. With their dwarf habit, they are excellent in sunny tubs and window-boxes. 'Unicum' has all these features, and striking cream or sulphur yellow leaf margins.
