Plant details

A short-lived perennial that flowers from June to July, 'White domino' is a form of V. 'Pink domino' with good white flowers held above a rosette of broad grey-green leaves. After flowering, cut the spike down to the last flower to encourage a second flush of spikes. It prefers poor, well-drained soils and thrives with plenty of sunshine. There is a tendency for the plant to grow too tall on rich soil, and staking may be required for support. Verbascums bring welcome height and structure to planting schemes and work well in both traditional, cottage-style gardens and contemporary schemes. Single specimens can also look very effective in a wild corner.
