Plant details
This is a striking plant with cabbage-like rosettes of grey-green foliage in winter, crowned with tall upright spikes of flowers growing from the centre of each in summer. The grey-green spikes are studded with lots of single, fully-open 4cm (1.5in) wide dusky, almost brownish-pink, flowers. The plant associates well with other summer flowers such as delphiniums, but also looks very good grown among roses. Be warned that plants often do not return after they have flowered.
