Zantedeschia aethiopica 'Green Goddess'

This is a wonderful architectural plant for pond margins or moist, clay soil. The plant produces very large, glossy leaves that are long and arrow-shaped, and also has striking white, tubular flowers. These flowers are like scrolls of white paper, dipped in green ink at the edges. They make excellent cut flowers, lasting for over a week indoors. Grow the arum lily either in moist soil or as a water plant, planting it into a special aquatic basket, in water up to 30cm (12in) deep. In the first few years of the plant's growth, mulch the crown of the plant during winter to protect it from frosts.
