offspring of the hemerocallis gall midge. So, very sadly, I had to remove all the infected buds from my daylilies, to try and break the cycle. I've got a couple of good flowers on H. 'Bela Lugosi', but not a sausage on H. 'Stafford'.That is probably enough

had removed most of one finger as nesting material.It may be time to go through my collection, chuck out the ones that are full of holes or have lost their partners, and maybe mosey on down to the garden centre to search again for the perfect glove.

. To revive the plant remove it from the pot, cut it in half and turn the outside edges so that they face inwards then replant in the pot with a bit of fresh compost. So simple.The general rule is that early-flowering plants should be divided in the autumn
