On 17/06/2013 in forum

On 23/09/2012 in forum

We have a problem on our 48 allotments.   Everyone's runner beans, peas, beetroot leaves and sweetcorn are being eaten.  The beans are totally decimated up to 4 feet and the tops left intact.  The leaves and beans are all eaten but the main stalk

Blackfly on broad beans

On 25/07/2008 in Unassigned

Last week I mentioned that my broad beans were mysteriously free from their usual curse of blackfly. Strictly speaking, blackfly isn't a black fly, but a 'black bean aphid'.And while my broad beans may be free from the pest this year, they normally
