subject, i think that althuogh manure smells it is a great way for helping you garden, but it does attract flies therefor it must attract birds which we do not wish to acompany us!. i also think that alan is over exadgerating.sorry if my spelling is not up

was removed to let birds do their job. Within days all the caterpillars were gone! If weather breaks and wind/frost is due then easy to pull fleece back on as protection. However still had to resort to slug pellets, but as undercover could not be accessed

long, it didn't freeze solid but all the frogs died.  My friend has a pond 4m square and almost 2m deep and he lost all his frogs too.I go out with a pan of hot water now when the pond freezes, as much for the birds and other mammals as for the frogs

the slugs are eating them. I cut the bottom out of plastic flower pot and put it on the soil around the plant then put slug pellets inside. The cats cant get to them that way and any slug or snail that cereeps in and dies doesnt get eaten by the birds. Well
