Could anyone please identify this caterpillar for me?   It is made up of a yellow stripe with a grey stripe underneath with red dots in it.  It is hairy and it was feeding on my plum tree. Two caterpillars were found on the   Victoria Plum tree

'd guess that the culprits are snails. If you go out at night with a torch you may find them at work. There may also be caterpillar present - check the backs of the leaves carefully. Thanks I will try that. Just spotted it - light green small caterpillar
