Ceanothus suffering bad winter damage

new growth on it but it is sparse and doesn't appear to be particularly strong. What should I do with it? I'm tempted to cut back all the dead branches but it will then look slightly strange as it will just be a tall thick trunk with some sparse green

turning green. I don't think it will go back red no matter what you feed it until it grows some more leaves! Mine seems to do this quite a lot though, so hopefully you will have some red leaves soon It's normal.  The new spring growth is red

Star Jasmine with red leaves???

for any information   Probably just older leaves reacting to being planted out - new weather conditions/soil conditions etc. if you are getting lots of new healthy growth and flowers too, there shouldn't be a problem. I would just remove the old leaves
