all a happy new year Our garden is a battle ground at the moment! I gave my husband assorted feeders & food for the birds this Christmas. There are regular stand-offs between blackbirds and robins. Watching their posturing is very interesting by Nanna greenfingers

watered if you live somewhere that hasn't had much rain. last year my wife made lots of homemade chutney, from all vegetables and fruit grown on our plot, useing green and red tomatoes, chillies, cues, and beetroot, its great to open a jar on Christmas day by juliamalone@sky.com

When do you buy your seeds?
root-crops such as parsnip should be sown fresh every year....all this comes with experience. Potatoes should be bought just after Christmas, as they will require a period of about six weeks of chitting before planting out.   Wlkinsons later by Tina_i_am

) aprox garden. we also have two big enerjetic dogs who love to stick there noses in flower pots and plants in general so anything tthats on the durable side would be great. we have quite a few privit bush/trees, christmas roses (but their purple ? :S by one girl and her dog(s)

window boxes are a wash out this year

! I'm with Sparklepinksunflower on this one. Plastic freebie teabag -out- of -pot extractor (No touching slimy critures for me!) and bucket of salt water! I use leftover plastic cutlery from Christmas. The forks are quite sharp, so just fork them by schubbs

Hedgehogs
in my garden, but love them Hi Lisa - great work! I would release him now but keep leaving food and water out at night for him in case he wants it. Kate My son got instructions from the internet and  made me a hedgehog house for Christmas  We have put by Emma Crawforth
