Allium
Over the years I have contiually come across Allium in plant borders and on my allotment. I don't like to use chemicals, so i'm sure that persistance in digging it out is probably the best way. Any other ideas? Hello Hedgeh0g. Alliums are generally by HEDGEH0G

really wanting the instant dynamic phwoar that alliums give in borders but in two minds off which to get do i get seeds and grow them or nip to the garden centre? if i grow them will i get a plant for this summer? and are they hard to grow from seed? by green fingerd will

perennials like astrantia. When they get very tatty - I cut the ends of the leaves off - doesnt seem to do them any harm and show very well the next year too Alliums, I am assuming you mean the globe flowered alliums, like sunny and dry. The soil might be too by naomi4

Is it possible to plant alliums now? if so where can you buy the bulbs? Should have gone in the autumn-unlikely you will find bulbs now-you might find some pot grown specimens- but at a price-try the garden centre This time last year I purchased by olive2

Where do you grow your Allium's?
Just been copying a border plan from gardeners world program they use alliums as underplanting . I thought these had to be in the sun  ,  what experiances has others had  please  with alliums ? The thing about alliums such as A. hollandicum Purple by lucky3

Hi  I brought 2 alliums in pots last year. Whilst one has flowered this year the other hasn't. I was told when i brought them that the routes like to be kept tight in a pot with little room. However I have just removed the none flowering one from by sarah wootton

Hi my alliums have finished flowering I think, do you cut them down or leave them standing, mine are in a tub? Like most bulbs, I'd leave them to die down naturally so that the goodness goes back into the bulb. Also a good feed is what I give mine by Bee friendly

I have a collection of Allium bulbs in pots until I have the right spot for them. Can I move them in flower? Yes if you're careful - as far as I'm aware the biggest danger would be the physical one of snapping the flowering stem.  Otherwise just dig by Sam Glendinning

Allium growths?
My globe alliums have all grown fine this year and are now in full bloom. However, 1 of the blooms has strange little white lumps in the flower head. The are quite hard and look a bit like tiny bulbs. Any ideas? My son picked the flower so I don by Sian Evans
