New plot
Just got an allotment off the council after 6 and  half years of waiting but was talking to other allotment holders they only wait a couple of years what a con but thats another matter. The grass is about 4 foot high so i have streamed it just by shaun_lincoln

Runner beans plants decimated up to 4 feet
We have a problem on our 48 allotments.   Everyone's runner beans, peas, beetroot leaves and sweetcorn are being eaten.  The beans are totally decimated up to 4 feet and the tops left intact.  The leaves and beans are all eaten but the main stalk by Vernon Herridge

Contaminated Farmyard Manure
I inherited a large pile of farmyard manure with my allotment - its at least 3 years old and according to the other plotholders it's contaminated with aminopyralid. Just need to know if I can use it now - removal would be difficult. I also have by JULIE MCVEIGH

Sheep it or Slug gone
. There was a thread recently, which I can't find, where at least two posters said that the wool pellets were useless against slugs - perhaps someone else can link you to it. I tried this last year on my allotment and it didn't work against the slugs and snails by dmball

Cabbage Butterflies & Nasturtium

Garden Leeks
Can anyone recommend a garden suitable leek , i have not grown any for many years since allotment days I always grow Musselbrough leeks and get good crops even this year which has been difficult. I have three good rows to see us into next year by virgle

Water saving for veg plot
I have 2 wheelly bins of rain water on my allotment, i never had a lid on them so the water is smelly with fallen leaves etc in there, is this ok to water my veg plot with or do i need to use a waterbut with a lid on, water? I would say it's fine by racwelsh

Asparagus
I have never grown asparagus before and it is something I would love to give a go. I have been six years now on an allotment waiting list and I do not hold out much hope of getting one any time soon but I think I will get some crowns. I generally by ThePotsmith
