Looking after alpines
I have just invested in a new greenhouse, part of which is dedicated to growing alpines, in pots plunged in sand on a tray table. I was inspired by the wonderful alpine house at Wisley which is awash all year with the most perfect minature marvels by Woodgreen wonderboy

Talkback: Alpine strawberries
for my first harvest. But with my newly planted garden strawberries i pinched out the flowers last year and now they are full of flowers, should i do that with the wild ones aswell. Wild or woodland strawberries are the same as alpine strawberries by happymarion

Talkback: Alpine strawberry pot display
A friend gave me some alpine strawberries some years ago and they keep on growing each year, lovely, although very small they outshine any other for flavour, I would recommend them also for the lovely deep pink flowers. by kaycurtis

Strawberries
they are tasty though If they have ripened and are red- no they won't get any bigger and you won't get many in a small planter but on the plus side their taste is unique. Alpine strawberries aren't as sweet as the fruit from the usual strawberry plant's sold by Girlyfox
