What flower seeds could I sow outside now to flower this year?
now would be lovely - I have run out of money for plants but could stretch to a few more seeds! Calendula would do fine now. As would cornflowers and nigella and a far few more. Pretty much any half hardy annuals will flower this year, and should by PaperFlowers

Storms
with leaves and flower heads lying around all over, plus plant pots knocked over.  Have spent a couple of hours trying to tidy up.  Have had to throw away most of my annuals in pots as they were decimated. by lavenderlass

Problem with Dahlias
are they? From seed they tend to be annuals, so will not get to the size of tubor grown daliahs Just keep removing the flower heads and they should flower right through to first frosts Modern plants are bred to flower as soon, and as prolifically by nodlisab

Talkback: How to grow annual climbers from seed
This is such a fabulous idea. I love it! When looking for a plant and not knowing it's exact name, being able to sort by 'Most Popular' or 'Early Flowering' or other similar catergories would be really useful, like when I do my shopping, I can by lkendall
