Wildlife flowers

to do everything in the first year after planting, only annuals do that and your rose aims to be around for a good few years, so will take time to get going.  Tie it is so that some of the branches are horizontal, this will also encourage flowering along by red john

Tree/shrub suggestion
've done very well. Another shrub I have is a dwarf rhododedron which is in acid compost. It has huge flowers in late spring and is evergreen the rest of the time. I forgot to say that I underplant my potted roses with annuals in summer (like lobelias by GiilyP

Identify plant
Sorry if this thread repeats itself.  Typed it already and then lost it.  My fault not the site. Last year I sowed a packet of seeds labelled as 'Fast flowers' - supposedly would grow and flower in 6-weeks.  Sowed them in a few small pots, stood by yarrow2
