packets in garden centres have a special logo on if the plant will flower in its first year. they are also on the internet. http://www.thompson-morgan.com/ It may give you a good idea. Some good flowers that give a good display, they are annuals though by cody smith

Wildlife flowers
them out as plug plants later in the year. I don't know which wildlife flowers you intend to use, or if the bank already has grass growing in it, but grass and other plants can quickly smother wildflowers. If you're just sowing an annual mix on to bare by Trisha Webb

Help with identifying plant
I have grown this flower for a few years but have never known the name of Iit. It has a yellow daisy like flower. Thanks Something in the chrysanthemum family I think. I'm sure someone else can get nearer than that Something in the Anthemis family I by nodlisab

in knots. Patience is a virtue. In the mean time it is OK to disguise them by planting some nice flowering annuals on top, taking care not to disturb the bulbs. Keep moist during the summer too, but not waterlogged. If you cut the leaves off before they die by Meggiemay

iceberg climbing rose
to do everything in the first year after planting, only annuals do that and your rose aims to be around for a good few years, so will take time to get going.  Tie it is so that some of the branches are horizontal, this will also encourage flowering along by red john

Tree/shrub suggestion
've done very well. Another shrub I have is a dwarf rhododedron which is in acid compost. It has huge flowers in late spring and is evergreen the rest of the time. I forgot to say that I underplant my potted roses with annuals in summer (like lobelias by GiilyP

Is it too late to sow flower seed this year ? I have loads and would like to get it all sown , so I can start again  Seeds of what? hardy annuals, scatter around now. Hardy biennials sow now and overwinter for flowers next year  perennials - depends by lucky3

Identify plant
Sorry if this thread repeats itself.  Typed it already and then lost it.  My fault not the site. Last year I sowed a packet of seeds labelled as 'Fast flowers' - supposedly would grow and flower in 6-weeks.  Sowed them in a few small pots, stood by yarrow2
