Clematis
, no good plant will not flower any more. I have tried killing the black fly with commercial sprays, this just turns the leaves brown. Has anybody any ideas. Ants do not eat black fly-they farm aphids for the secretions that the aphids produce. The spray by Caz8

Tiny white bits on plants.
white bits on plants, it's not whitefly because they don't move when the plant is touched, could they be greenfly eggs, if not what are they.       If they look like tiny bits of thread they're probably thrips, another sap-sucker. treat as aphids by Zoomer44

Beech hedging, white powdery stuff?
if this could be the problem?  Photo attached of a tree that's still fairly healthy, but does have this white stuff. Would appreciate any advice.       Take a magnifying glass to it and check if it's beech aphid. It looks like fluff close up by Jaime 2

for the summer and cold resistant ones to pick after the fall I too picked my purple sprouting, however, I didn't actually serve myself any, as there seemed to be a lot of aphids coming off, no matter how many times I rinsed it in salty water! I've been picking by Christine

My cherry tree has red lumps on them
the whole area for safety. So many trees,so little garden and time to grow them in! Ants don't eat leaves, but they do 'milk' the sweet excretion that most aphids exude. I suspect you have some form of aphid infestation, so spray it with an insecticide by justin stefanyszyn
