Potato problem
.  Prevention: use virus free seed. Spray with heptenophos to control the virus carrying aphids. Further reading of Alan Romans potato book also seems to point to the same conclusion, plants may produce a very poor crop. Hope that helps. Not so sure about it by Berghill

my curcubit plants are dying off
.  They were watered with rainwater, kept a little on the dry side.  On PM there is a good root system, no sign of aphid and no pinching at the neck where I would have expected to see if it was neck rot and that wasn't blackened.  They haven't been overwatered by daffygardener

What is this?
nearest the flower looks as if it could have had a bit of aphid damage, or even might have been caught in the spray-drift from some weedkiller - is that possible (it happens to the best of us - a sudden gust of wind - and it has been windy this year)  or by Miss.Understood

Mealybugs
- is this possible ? Going down the chemical route - Provado ultimate bug killer would sort your problem out. I have a box hedge which gets a white dusting during late spring and early summer, it is caused by box aphid. Thank you to both (marshmello and jeffd by willowplanter

Talkback: Harlequin ladybird
if they are goodies or badies. The harlequin has established in the UK very rapidly over the past 3 years and it's obviously here for the forseeable future. In Asia (its homeland), it has a preference for tree dwelling aphids, so perhaps we'll be thankful that those by Antonia
