New Apple trees
I was at an organic garden talk last night and it was surgested that you sink plastic bottles , 3 per tree in the ground , holes in the base , leave the top on and fill with water rather than just watering the ground ( obviously not at the moment by garrysnelson

Apple scab
I'm new to gardening and last year planted several fruit trees. The apple tree seems to have apple scab (brown marks on leaves) the apples are knobbly in texture. Are the apples still OK to eat or use in chutney? Are apple scab diseased apples OK by Helen Offord
