as I crack some for him, he brings me the cones so we can share. I had lots of windfall apples this year.They were gathered up and prepared by removing all the damaged area. Then peeled and sliced. They were stewed with sugar, and popped by Del Richards

misletoe
on the radio the other day and the Woodland Trust were talking about trying to spread mistletoe. You have to mash it up with some of your saliva  (to simulate birds digesting it) andthe rub it into cracks in the bark. I'm afraid I can;t remember which trees by cedric blackwell

Front and back Garden design help/advice needed please.
of last summer as we wanted a blank canvas to work from. We were wondering if you guys could give us some inspiration for either the front or back garden as we will be cracking on with it when the weather improves slightly but please bear in mind I am by davielovesgravy

unwanted willow tree
wildlife-friendly such as a crab apple in its place.  Does anyone know how I can get rid of it organically?  I don't mind leaving a stump but don't want it to re-grow and I don't use any harmful chemicals in my garden.  I tried giving it a severe haircut by raggedrobin

. Sadly things change flowering rose. I grew up in the sixties, in a house which backed onto a field and post war allotments. There was a huge derelict pig farm and vicarage with orchard. I recall being woken at the crack of dawn to the sound of birds by flowering rose

Can anybody identify these?

, 5 different acers (varying sizes, 3 viburnums, 3 wisteria, an olive europaea, 2 grape vines, and 3 different palms. All living happily in pots. Have just got around to putting the apple(I think bought with no label!) tree in the ground and it has by Ikman

I completely agree with the comments about Jack Frost. I myself planted one last year at the foot of my ancient apple tree. This year it is ten times the size and the flowers are just stunning. A real centre piece to the border which includes by Galic and Snails
