wild flowers
(which is the best way). Could someone tell me the name of the thistle that grows to 6ft and has a tall seed head, (not small and round) as I have read that butterflys go for them in the summer and the birds eat the seeds in winter. are these thistle by denise butcher

heads at the top of the stems. They are just like tiny little cloves. Also one of my onions produced seeds. I have collected them but am unsure what/how/when to plant them? Help please. The tiny little heads at the tops of the garlic stems can be stir by DahliaLove

ID of plant growing EVERYWHERE!
? Lots of different types. They spring up all over our garden too. They can be spread by the wind. The flowers ate pink & the seeds head looks like cfluffy cottonwool. I'm not sure of its name, but I've seen it around alot. Try this to identify it http by Roxanne Blanton

the seed pods before the plants had set seed, would have helped. Thanks for your reply Gary.  I have not replied earlier because I have been waiting to see what would happen with my New Zealand Flax this year.  Two more have produced huge flower heads by sterelitza

Pots of summer colour in partial shade
-hardy - but the shade is enough that even last years' snapdragons struggled to show much after their first flush. Anyone had any success with anything they've grown from seed? I've tried any likely garden-centre candidates ready-grown - the usually available by auntie betty

seeds a plenty I'm growing sunflowers as well. Skyscrapers - they were outstanding last year. Sunflowers are also great for feeding birds later and at the allotments where I am in South Devon we all seem to sow bee attracting flowers for pollination by Maria
