I am wanting to plant bamboo as a boarder to gain some privicy from my neighbours.  My plan is to do so down the side of my patio, where I have a trench 8 inch wide and 8 inch deep........would this be deep enough for the roots of bamboo to grow by thisisnewtome

Bamboo
We had a beautiful 9' tall very bushy bamboo for about 8 years - with a spread of around 4' and depth of 2'.  Last year, because the roots were starting to push up the paving slabs, we chopped away the creeping roots (and had new slabs!) and fitted by Bunny2012

What type of Bamboo??
Looking for a nice type of Bamboo or Fargesia to mask my neighbours garden. Recently cut down around 5 Leylandi cypruses, and have done some decking at the back of the garden. I intend to make a jungle type garden and have a few plants already by ziggy

Bamboo Problem
Hello My next door neighbour has a bamboo tree in his garden, which has now started to grow up through my garden.  Is there any way I can stop this happening or how do I kill off the bamboo altogether?  Any advice would be greatfully received by j_shan

Problem bamboo
I have quite a problem with my neighbours bamboo which is quite a thug.  It is 9ft tall and becoming very rampant, sending thumb-sized spears through into my garden. They travel about 6 inches below the surface and have quite strong roots along by Gardenguy

Which bamboo?
I have a bare 4-foot fence between us and the next door neighbours' garden.  In the later afternoon/evening, the sun is in that direction.  I'd like to provide a bit more privacy, but without losing that sun.  I thought that a bamboo would be ideal by Karen Cameron

bamboo
I bought 6 bamboo plants and was excited about putting them in until I read the horror stories about them popping up anywhere and everywhere, I have now decided to put them in 18in x 18in strong plastic tubs to sit on the soil a concrete slab under by bluejan
