Evergreen hedging query
Can anyone please give me some feedback on what would make a new evergreen hedging as a divide between two houses. Currently I have a lovely display of bamboos but they have grown too well and the neighbour is complaining. Ideally I want to grow by Keef

drainage for tropical style garden
Going to do raised beds for tropical style garden with plants like palms, ferns, caster oil plant,cordylines and bamboo, would i start with a layer of stones then soil for drainage. Advice please. Bamboo and fern do not really need drainage by bluejan

I was hoping someone could advise me the best course of action before planting 2 pots of Fargesia Nitida.  I understand this is a clumping bamboo, but I don't want it to take over the borders.  Is there some thing I can do before I plant them, i by Garden learner

How to plant the watermelon?
its spring in our there now, im going to plant some watermelon, any body has suggestioins? Germinate your seeds then get a large pot. Around the pot place 5 bamboo sticks and tie together. When the watermelon starts to grow you tie the plants around by Raina

suitable plants for a middle sized put

Pot Climbers

Growing veg in an unkempt garden!

Advice on growing Raspberries
put a bamboo cane next to them and tie it to them,not to tight so they have some support if autumn ones you need to cut them down to ground level and they dont need no support they are both very easy to grow,all i do is add some bonemeal to the soil by LorraineP

when I plant bulbs in pots to stop squirrels taking them I place up turned hanging baskets over them and anker them down with bamboo until they are big enough, then the pests leave them alone. bye the way Pippa the owls are beautiful lovely picture by Louise
