Bought a pot of Iris Confusa from an open garden last weekend, can anyone let me know where to plant them and what to expect them to look like in maturity?  Any information would be great. This is also known as Bamboo Iris. The "bamboo" like stems by seaside oldie

jungle has grown overnight - now for some long weed-pulling session. I wish I could access hazel stakes. i don't like the look of bamboo but can find no source near us and our squirrels aren't so obliging near Peterborough! I've tried Google and our local by The Bumblebee

Shrub/tree for a very large pot?
already growing up it and there is a bamboo in a nearby bed too.  Nearby planting is in fairly hot colours with some white flowers. Any ideas would be very much appreciated! I can really recommend Heptacodium miconioides. It 's a large shrub or small tree by Dewy

Who ate all the carrots?
my kale by stretching twine across the area tied to bamboo canes, much like people do with wire over their ponds to keep the herons at bay, so you could try that. Are the others planted near onions, garlic or leeks because, apparently, slugs are put by Tina_i_am

Screening
to put some trellis up and do it my my self. Bamboos make very good screening plants. You simply need to get a variety that exactly suits your requirements. You need to make sure you get one that is erect (that does not flop with rain or snow by carney
