Talkback: Ash trees
metre concrete fence posts in last summer. Considering the tree was at least 40feet away from where I was digging, I hadn't expected quite so much resistance. No wonder they make excellent cricket bats!Having said that this mature tree supports a lot by kaycurtis

,foxes bats and a whole host of different birds that visit me including jays woodpeckers and a very beautiful sparrowhawk but it was probably the little tiny mice I have seen scurrying around the garden on the odd occasion as they are quite shy by kyra Barnett

? You probably could find a pesticide to kill the beetles, but it would also kill the ladybirds, bees, hoverflies and all other beneficial insects in your garden, not to mention the odd hedgehog or two. And then of course the birds and the bats would by budding entomologist

ponds are seasonal,we have planted evergreens ect. it is surrounded by wood decking but still looks natural.You will never regret a pond ,frogs ,birds bathing,we even had 2 ducks pay us a visit!Bats swooping,all in a suburban street. by Gardenbabe

! What can I say, I just love the critters! @Katie Blue they could well be dung beetle larvae. They're absolutely harmless to your plants and help break down the manure. Also food for bats. A good thing! Kate phew! thanks. I have noticed the shed skins by happymarion

Is everyone else's plants very late this year?
also had a small miracle when I dug up a mature flowering current in full leaf and left it hanging around for a week in wet weather before deciding to replant it and it went on to flower and fruit without batting an eyelid! where I am in Drougheda we by Lunarz
