Bats
Hello, I'm new to this, I'm a keen gardener and when planting consider the wildlife the plants will attract. We have introduced many boxes to encourage the birds and wildlife one of which is a bat box and although I try and watch for activity I have by Chilli Pepper

Talkback: Bats
from the others staying there, we eventually cornered it in the toilet and I picked it up, still remember the feel of its tiny claws clutching my fingers. And yes, I know I shouldn't have done but I wasn't up in bat protection in those days. by Warthog

Talkback: Gardening for bats
,really brill to stand and watch.they were very tiny....i do have 2 bat boxes up but unsure if they have nested in them. We are lucky, one of our neighbors has a couple of conifers (taller than the house) and bats have roosted there as long as I have lived here by nashonii@gmail.com

Encouraging bats in our gardens
We talk a lot on here about encouraging beneficial wildlife in our gardens but not a lot about bats.  Did you know a tiny pipistrelle can consume 3,000 midges in one night? We used to have a colony of about 30 when we moved here about 20 years ago by obelixx

Very jealous! We have a big street lamp outside our garden so unlikely we'll get bats flying past as there's a big, dark park next door. Did loads of bat walks along the Thames last year though - our bat detector kept picking up stag beetles! many by magz

I love bats, we sit in the conservatory at night to watch the bats swooping above us. I hope i can make a good one because I will be so chuffed with myself, and hopefully it may encourage more bats in my garden. Thankyou for the tips. do you really by ebbypea

Talkback: Daddy longlegs
at pictures of them in books. It's strange because spiders are no problem. With you there, Sylvia. Anything that can't seem to fly straight - Daddies, Cockchafers, Stag beetles etc - gets me running for cover. No problem with bats, birds or dragonflies. by Sylvia Robbins
