Runner beans.
For several years I have been growing Runner Beans in containers, this is just to have an extra supply near the house, and indeed for interest. As there is a plentiful supply of farm yard manure I always place a generous amount in the base, and top by cowslip2

Deformed beans
My climbing French beans are becoming more and more twisted as the season draws to a close. Does anybody know what causes it? - They are still picked and eaten.   The only time I had anything like that - they were more the V-shape than the curly by Beanli

I've  grown a variety of beans and want to save some seeds to plant next year. Do I just wait for the plants to die off and the bean pods to dry on the plants? by Zoomer44

Blackfly on broad beans
ever, my autumn sown broad beans up here in the Fens have not over-wintered very well. I have been told to pinch out the top leaves at some stage (possibly when first flowers appear) to avoid black fly. Does any one know more about this? Hi Artjak - yes by Belinda Jarman

Hi I am new to growing my own vegatables. My Runner bean plants were lovely when I put them out, they are now being eating by something and getting a bit straggly. Help? Would it help to know that I live in a wooded area? Slugs-probably-just a word by Paula Cliff

runner beans
Does anybody know if you can eat dried runner beans? We grow borlotti beans to use during the winter in casseroles, we grew a few kidney beans last year, is there any reason you can't do the same with runner beans? by PotterAngie
