Runner & French Beans
Hi Guys, Last year I collected seeds of my runnner/french bean plants. The seeds have been kept in a brown paper bag to keep the moisture out. I've grown beans for year's but is it to early to sow them yet? If so, when will I be able to sow them by Lalat

Dwarf French beans
Hi, I know this may seem ignorant of me, but I'm only 17 and don't have much experience! Do dwarf French beans need any support like the climbers do or do they just grow kinda bushy and small? Thanks! Hi Nick, Don't worry about age- Gardening is one by Nick Winn

Late Runner Beans
I planted my runner beans back in May and after a very tramatic start thanks to the slugs eating them they have grown really well and are really lush.  I have beans on them that are about 4 inches long and a lot more coming too. As this is my first by flowergirl4

Broad beans and sweet peas
Hi, I planted some broad beans and sweet peas in polystyrene pots in my garage, they are one sprouting up. When can I plant them outside please? They need to go in a cold frame for a while first -to harden off and toughen up-so not yet. by BRENDA CLAGUE

Talkback: Harvesting broad beans
Any tips on dealing with the blackfly please? First time growing runner beans myself and have just cropped them but noticed blackfly on some of the beans and I think they have been left a little too long as some are nearly 12" long now. We live by Kate, gardenersworld.com

Best runner bean
I have usually grown two varieties of runner beans each year tryng to find the best flavoured, stringless runner bean. I have come to the conclusion that white flowered varieties are better at setting big crops. Polestar was very good last year by Verdun

Talkback: Growing broad beans
I am sure that I read somewhere that putting down holly leaves will deter mice from eating newly planted peas or beans. Why not invest in the cheaper end of the cloche market -a couple of low profile 1x mtre polytunnels or similar won't cost by mizzzy
