Beans not germinating/being eaten
I've tried several times this year & none of my climbing beans have germinated either in the greenhouse or outside. Or they're being eaten before   I notice them!  I'm tempted to try germinating them the windowsill, from what I read I just damp by Lokelani

heavy with the beansI think they will fall over.. Mine are about 18" high at the moment.  I had to stake out my broad beans last year..  Sadly I dont have space for them as well this year.  I am a novice so everything is hopefully "touch and grow", I by staffsmags

Possible to sow more peas and beans
My peas and broad beans are just developing, so I hope to be able to start harvesting them pretty soon.  Do I just feel the pods until they appear full to bursting?  Also is it too late to re-sow for another crop for later in the season? Many thanks by lesinnl

Growing Sweet Peas and Runner Beans together
Yesterday I bought 3  White Lady runner bean plants, about 25cm tall.  I also have 6 sweet pea plants which are about 15cms.  I wondered about growing them up canes, 2 sweet peas at the bottom of the first cane, then one bean at the bottom by happycottontail

Ruuner Bean roots- a problem?
Hi All I am just taking a break for lunch after clearing away the debris from my runner bean patch and would like to know if I have a problem there.  When I lifted up one or two of the plant remains. I noticed there were what looked like seeds by Madeleine51

whats eating my runner bean leaves
Hi something is eating my runner bean leaves and having a real good feast on them... I thought at first its snails or slugs so put slug pellits down but they still seem to be eaten, even the really small leaves that are well over a foot off by flowergirl4

Mr Bean - SuperMarrow Video
My little girl is having a stint on the animated series of Mr Bean at the moment. She watched this one earlier, and it did make me smile. I know I am protective of some of my plants (not to his extreme), but thought I'd share it for a giggle. http by Insomnia1973

Talkback: Plant supports for beans and sweet peas
Cool another example doing things the old fashion way. netting on frame is better option for peas since it allows more efficient use of space. Sorry but after years of picking up and trying to salvage the many "wigwams" I've built for peas and beans by Ross McCormick

Should I "top" my sparsely-flowering runner beans?
I know the usual advice is to nip out runner beans when they reach the top of their support. Well, mine have - but the constant rain means they have grown at an alarming rate - but there are very few flowers. I'm tempted to let them just "hang down by Berkley
