guarantee to get a thorn under a nail anytime I am working near them AND why do thorns never decompose in my compost!!!!! I think you are a bit old fashioned on the bedding - ever been to Great Dixter? - and some places do municipal bedding really well by SPAM VALLEY

Success and Failures ...
but pieris was largely untouched and schizostylus. Clay soil but just keeping working at it. I love heucheras and they seem to thrive here, seeding readily. If your soil doesn't suit, raised beds/large containers is the way- GG rhodies/camellias etc will do by Brumbull

. Firstly, make a list of al the veg you like best, then take a look at some seed catalogues on the internet to choose varieties. Alternatively, have a trip with your parents to a local garden centre, as they'll have displays of vegetable seed packets by Toni Lee McCulloch

Scottish Clematis
the winter, was replanted due to drain flood and quickly planted in the nearest bed just to have somewhere to put it.  When the weather became reasonable during the sudden odd warm week in February, I cut it down to about a foot stem length and re-planted it by Percy-Grower

Lily beetle
" IE Cranesbill have been fine, not as much flower in 1 patch but o/w as normal. Mostly in sheltered areas of garden under trees.  Anyone planted Wildflowers this year?? I have planted 2 beds with a variety of wildflowers and am sooo pleased with them by SilverFairy

for the dramatic display in winter months a few fox gloves, allium gladiators scatterd inbetween and ground cover at the front  aubretia babys breath london bridge and a few other variates was also thinking some tripods at the back too with clematis sieboldii by green fingerd will

planting on verge.
from digging beds in the main garden I hope to take it all the way down.       Is it just grassy in the summer?  Lovely! I wish more people did this - it would improve the environment so much for everyone as well as improving one's own outlook by Lyn

just made my 1st ever hanging baskets
in the wrong places....and I have been one of the worst. First attempts rarely tick all the boxes but we learn from them. I bet you will have a fantastic display in summer. Trailing plants like surfinias, verbenas, pelargoniums will prob be better. Thanks by nivlac

How long after lawn feed and weed killer can I plant things?
A week ago we sprinkled granular lawn feed and weed killer all over the lawn (most of the garden), inculding areas down the edges that I had planned to tuen into flower beds. Do I need to wait before doing this now? I've got loads of stuff to plant by PaperFlowers
