replace them with standard bedding. Great - thanks for the sound advice and for taking time to reply A great plant is the primula, still giving a good splash of colour for beds, lots oc colour choices too. Maybe with some violas, or bellis daisy to fill by elizabeth cooley

Has anyone put out there bedding plants yet or cuttings.......I have been hardening off some of my plants but with the threat of frost I am still holding back.....was going to put them put next week, come what may.  Wow.....can't believe I can by Flower bird

When would be the best time to start bedding plants in the greenhouse is it too soon ? Yes by around four weeks at least-if they are half-hardies they need heat to germinate and good light and frost free conditions to grow on. Now is not the time by gill barker

I have brought my bedding plants and potted them up and they are now sitting in the greenhouse the same size as they were a week ago, why aren't they growing? what am i doing wrong? They are no where big enough to plant in the garden!!! After a week by Bushy 77

I have just moved to a moderate size garden and I love it. I have 3 beds, 2 are approx 3ft x 6ft long and the other is my flower bed which is about 15ft long & 3ish foot wide as angled. Flowers seeds, bulbs and bedding plants in the flower bed by joseph woosey

I have just been to our local authority's nursery "leftover " sale of winter bedding plants and yes the pansies and violas were selling like hotcakes but the cyclamen were not even getting to reach the polytunnels before they were snapped up by dolores

, detest bedding with a passion....mainly for the reason's you stated. I prefer to grow perennials from seed and watch them grown into strong mature plants over the years. I tend to fill up with cosmos and california poppies where possible, but inevitably by sarahs pondlife...

planting a raised flower bed
into the garden (creating a sort of square with 3 sides-shape) where I could stick a small water feature, like a spherical stone... Other than that, the only plants I currently own to put in this bed are 1 skimmia (2 yrs old), a 2 yr old Leucothoe, 2 vincas and a by ilovemontydon

Plant closer together in containters or raised beds...
Why can you plant closer together if in containers / raised beds? Partly to make best use of them, but also because the soil tends to be richer and can support more plants. by Supernoodle
