Winter planting
very dodgy.  If you can find a good nursery where planting, cuttings and sowing gets done on site, this is the very best bet.   For ordinary bedding, especially summer bedding, decent garden centres and larger supermarkets can be a good bargain by Chris9

Poly pests
What are those hopping/jumping pests that are leaving white marks over most of my polyanthus leaves? They seem to be sap sucking insects and jump off when the plant is handled. These plants are in pots and looking very sad. What will get rid of them by pamajo

Ground Elder for a beginner
a few established plants.  There are 2 mini trees in it and lots of rose bushes and a fair few bulbs.  The stuff I've read is dig up all the plants, wash the roots, plant them in pots and tackle the bed organically or with weed killer.  I don by Emma179

what to intercrop with squash?
Hi, I've planted up 5 or 6 squash plants in a 2x1m raised bed.  They're still little plants as yet, which leaves quite a lot of soil bare! What could I intercrop with them? Would beetroot / carrots be quick enough, or would they get shaded out by General Disarray
