for the winter. Then I kept reading that wildlife needed the seed heads and dying plants etc in your garden, so this year I did not tidy my garden. It is alive with so many birds of all kinds and insects, beetles and ladybirds are still around, all over by Allotment Robin

on the compost heap and the compost is excellent. We used to have many sycamores which produced loads of leafmould which rotted down more quickly if packed in black sacks and left a year or two. There are always lots of beasts in the compost, beetles, slugs by James Bond

chemiclas very much ( I make an exception with provado for lily beetle, as I grow a large amount of those), but some things do call for special action. If your plant does have clematis wilt, don't worry - you need to make sure the clematis is in the pot by Jill Smith

pots they love, so keep trying to spot the adults too & well just kill the little devils. if you touch them, they play dead and drop to the ground up side down making them even harder to spot, like the red lily beetle. the nematodes need moist soil by emmarose

Something is eating my lavender
