Talkback: Death-watch beetles
I used to hear death-watch beetles in my 1820s town terrace house. I'd only hear them in March and April and was told that the tapping was one seeking out a mate. I haven't heard them for the last couple of years - maybe they've moved further down by dfdfdhfdrc

Talkback: Bug hunt and rosemary leaf beetle
Although the others you describe are probably the harlequin ladybird, Harmonia axyridis, your metallic stripy 'ladybird' is almost certainly a rosemary leaf beetle, Chrysolina americana. Look out for the pale grey grubs, up to 10 mm long, sitting by caitlin

LILY BULBS
I've had some magnificent lily bulbs in a raised bed but the last two years they have been infected by lily beetles despite me checking them daily, squashing any I found and trying to get rid of the slimy larva. I took them out and have the bulbs by lindapalmara

Is this a ladybird?
Hi, Can anybody advise on a beetle I've just noticed on my lavender? It's the same shape as a ladybird bit it's bronze. On each wing case it has three or four pale orange stripes from head to tail which you have to get up close to see. Squish by Angela at 27
