VIBURNUM TINUS 'EVE PRICE'
I have this plant growing well in a large container and this morning I've noticed leaf damage which I think (judging by internet pics.) is the work of the adult viburnum beetle - don't see any larvae or any other signs of activity.   Should I remove by pinkpeony

bee flies
but these are not around at this time of year and would be much larger. Apparently they are parasitic on solitary bees, wasps and beetles. Fortunatley they don't sting!  Bombylius major, yes, more than we usually see Masses here in the south too - far more than last year by LM

Planting Lily plants in the border
have three stems you should have three bulbs.     I would tend to put them in the garden just as they are, as if you try to separate them you could damage the roots.   Remember to check them daily for the scarlet lily beetle. by sara anne

Help! Pest nipping the tops off baby plants
... This is in the greenhouse, btw... Cats do sleep sometimes!! Sounds mouse like, or worse rat like - I suppose as in the greenhouse unlikely to my immediate suspects, pigeons.  I wonder if there are large beetles that like to do thse things?  I still suspect mouses, in spite by Marie Robson

Talkback: Sir Joseph Banks
I am mightily impressed by the beetle - it looks like something I once made in metal work at school. And there was me thinking banksias were named after the street artist! I knew Rosa banksia lutea was not named in honour of the Bristol artist but I by Richard Jones
