Meconopsis- blue poppy - lingholm. Bareroot hostas
and grew on, they didn't survive the winter, so, being biennial (or short term perennial), i never saw them flower. They need very special conditions from what I gather - rich, well drained,  but moisture retentive acid soil in semi shade, and better by dizzylizzy

Talkback: Protecting plants from frost
we are promised for the West country tomorrow will make the job easier. They are hardy biennial - sow one year, flower the next, but lots of them will go on and act as short-lived perennials and it is easy to take cuttings from them when they are nice by happymarion

? Hi everyone - I agree with Berghill about identity. I have it growing in our garden - it's very hardy I would say - it's a biennial and, in my experience, self seeds readily without becoming invasive.   Seems to be as tough as anything. Certainly by lovetogarden

Talkback: Foxgloves
when is the best time of year to sow biennials such as digitalis, delphinium, and lupins I'd sow foxgloves (digitalis) now, or you can also sow in March/April. Lupins are hardy perennials, and I'd sow in Feb/March if possible, as plants raised from by Sarah, Bournemouth
