Using vinegar to kill weeds
and found that an organic alternative is vinegar which when sprayed on the plant will kill it. I believe it needs to be mixed with washing up liquid. Anybody used vinegar on weeds and can confirm its success or otherwise. She has lots of bindweed, nettles by Tim Burr

bind weed in compost bin!
of the roots. Help someone? If it's coming up from the bottom the fabric should stop it. You would need to get all the root out to be free of it but it could be done. I find the big white hedge bindweed much easier to get rid of than the little pink field by Sue H

With more time on my hands, I'm tackling horrid areas of ivy, bindweed and other nasties but realise with things becoming more organised into flower and veg beds, there is little cover. As I tried to clear the last bit for a pea/ bean bed, I by Cucamelon

Is glyphosate safe?
Last year I treated an area of bindweed with glyphosate - the nexy day I found a perfectly normal looking young blackbird, no wounds or signs of illness, dead about half  metre away.  Could the glyphosate have killed it? Secondly, a gardener I know by gardeninggenes

Bind weed
no bindweed whatsoever Queen quack, bindweed is easily killed by glyphosate but there are some factors. One is 5 hours of dry weather after application. Two you need to apply it 2 or 3 times this summer. Apply at the rosette stage...weedkiller is more by QueenQuack

Bind Weed
. Don't worry it may look bad but it will not be forever I had a 100ft garden full of bindweed. Best time to spray is when its in flower, so leave it to romp and then soak the b**tard on a windless day! Repeat as needed. I dug all mine out over the years by lesinnl

Climbing weed
. HELP! Without a photo it is difficult but it sounds like bindweed to me - yuk!  Are the leaves heart shaped and there are white flowers later?  You'll never get it by digging as the main root, which runs horizontally in the soil, can be as deep as 2 by ghog
