Weed suppressing membrane.

that can be propagated by roots, that's its main method of invasion. it doesn't run underground like Bindweed but rather, once you have it, you can't get rid of it. Any piece of root left will grow into a new plant much like Oriental poppies, so trying to by Jo poppy

My 1st allotment
to dispose of it. Annual grass and weeds can be put on the compost heap but avoid things like bindweed.  Avoid any nasty ones with seed heads. One chap on our allotment puts the more vigorous weeds in a black plastic bag and leaves them to rot for a year by richard ellis

Raspberry failure
that Raspberries are shallow rooted and don't like competition from weeds but mine grew almost complete neglected, through patches of bindweed in sandy soil and were like a forest in just four years from a single stem, which also appeared lack lustre the first year by lucy33

What does rotivation do?
you tried one yourself. You can hire them by the day. Another disadvantage is that if there are nasty perrenial weeds such as couch grass, horsetail, bindweed, ground elder to name but 4 ( there are lots more), the rotovator will chop them up by Jamesyjables

Rotovating Re-Claimed Land
then rotavated, then sowed grass and I regretted it for years afterwards. Especially as it had bindweed as well which got into the beds. by Ian 2

girlfriend Susie & our two black Labs Molly & Rosie. My biggest problem is the dreaded Bindweed & a wall of brambles. What is the best way to tackle this ever encroaching menace please? I don't want to use chemicals if i can help it so i would welcome your by Lesley

Complete novice thwarted by the weeds!
'm dealing with: dandelions in the lawn and the paving bindweed in the hedge some kind of creeping weed with long green leaves in the lawn horsetail in the lawn and the paving   Any suggestions that don't involve ripping the whole garden up and starting again by Emma Mitchell
