Birds.
Would love your thoughts and experiences on the bird feeders that can be attached (stuck?) to windows. I would love to try this, but guess the birds may be reluctant to use it. Also in our national daily newspaper it has again been mentioned by cowslip2

Birds nesting
will have to wait until later in the year to sort out the ivy. On a seperate note, I didn't realise until I saw him just now but robin's can hover (like humming birds). I do have a pile of cut down branches etc at the bottom of my garden which I cut down by discodave

Unusual visitor to bird table?
We have a pair of mallards that have started to visit our fish pond, with a possible view to nesting in the margins. Yesterday morning Mrs Mallard was pecking up crumbs from the bird table. The photo is a bit dark, but I had to creep up on her by lovetogarden

Birds
to other birds. Do you have any thoughts or advice? I love feeding our garden birds, but wish they would clear their plates!! I feed them sunflower hearts, which they squabble over enthusiastically. Unfortunately, there is still quite a lot of waste. i have by cowslip2

Talkback: Feeding garden birds
Good advice, Kate. And it's not just bird feeders that must be kept clean, but bird baths too. Possibly it's even more important to keep bird baths clean, and I scrub mine every month.I've also recently emptied out a bird nest box, and sterilised by Adam Pasco

The wrong kind of birds
There is a large rookery at this end of the village.  The noise of them nesting I can (just about) cope with, but they raid the bird feeders.  They cannot perch on the seed feeders, but they try, flap wildly and do their best to break them by Shrinking Violet

Bird feeders causing weeds?
We have a bird feeder station tucked into the corner of one of our beds. I fill this with peanuts, fat balls and BIRD SEED. In the surrounding area underneath a type of grass has started growing in the bed. I assumed it was dreaded couch grass by Surbiton_Margot

Talkback: Garden birds
I haven't had many birds in my either, and RSPB Bird Watch was disapointing to say the lest as I hardly counted any birds compared to last year. Just lately though I have notice the Blue Tits starting to check out the nesting boxes and I've got two by donutsmrs
