Feeding blackbirds
Does anyone have any bright ideas about how I can make sure that those huge fat pigeons can't get at the fried bread and seed I put out for blackbirds and other small birds which don't use hanging feeders? Shoot them?  You can't there is a pecking by Peta

Talkback: Identifying birdsong

Talkback: Death in mysterious circumstances
When I first moved here I purchased a bird bath and table to encourage the birds but have had no visitors because the neighbouring cats love to sit in my garden. So since a cat caught a bird I have disposed of the bird assessories and now enjoy by Janey

Greedy starlings
I like to put out mealworms as a treat for the birds but the greedy starlings eat them all in such a frenzy that the other birds just do not get a look in.  I know the starlings have got to eat too and I do love to see them sqabbling over them by Lavender Lady

What DO they put in bags of mixed birdseed?!
The birds love the birdseed and especially the sunflower seeds but I've got to laugh. In Spring I spend considerable time digging up luxurious grass (no other word for it) from around.the base of the bird table and the apple tree in which the bird by Freespirit

Pigeons
We have a number of bird feeders hanging from a tree which is surrounded by lawn. Seed dislodged by small birds falls onto the grass and is then recovered by scavenging pigeons. After the recent wet weather, pigeons have worn a bare patch approx. 6 by KenF
