I have always loved jays, they used to come into our garden when I was small but my grandparents (who lived in an annexe of our house) said they were bullies because they chased away the other birds so jays weren't very popular in our house. I by chilipops

Ants and My Strawberries!!!
if this is necessary too? Thank you in anticipation!! Buds_gardens2012, Ants could well be the problem but they can't cut through the skin so something else such as birds would have had to cut the skin first but as soon as its open anything could munch at it (ants by Buds_gardens2012

Great company!
destination. Much too cold here to potter. Did go out and defrost the bird bath a few times and fed the birds. Roll on spring ! Its a cloudy overcast and bitterly cold day here near Blackburn but I fed the birds this morning and made sure the ice was broken so by peter ansells

Getting crafty with corn

Does anyone know which creature - probably a bird - is nipping off the flowers on my primroses and scattering them about? I live in the country so there is quite a wide avian choice. Is it to get at nectar? Sparrows have the reputation by Posy

purple loosestrife and ragged robin
I have been trying to grow Purple Loosestrife and Ragged Robin for about ten years,I live in an area where there is heavy clay, sucessfully established Water Avens,Flag Iris,Fleabane and Greater Birds Foot Trefoil, so can't understand why I have by peter kinsey

Geraniums
My Geraniums leaves have got white splashs on them looks like someone had flicked  paint over them. I have checked the leaves under side as well cant see any bugs and no damage to the leaves. Have they been outside? It could just be birds. Or have by Andy19

Autumn Magic planting
I just bought 2 Autumn Magic Aronia plants today. I was quite thrilled to find them, as I read how beautiful they are and they attract birds. I plan on planting them along the foundation of the house, with decorative rock underneath them. Am I going by Amy2
