Unknown plant
Some sort of vetch? Or lathyrus vernus? Perhaps a picture would help? It very much does sound like Common Vetch, it came up in my Mother in Laws garden this year probably from the bird feed mix she was putting out. I find them lovely plants by di5

Woodlice are eating my strawberries
Woodlice are not the culprit- they are the scavengers-it is more likely slug or bird damage in the first instance-you will need to take precautions against both. Yes, I agree completely with Geoff - woodlice are not the problem. They move in when by pellegrina

Bark mulch
it so tidy? We've used it in our boarders here and the birds fling it everywhere, so much so that it ends up in piles, leaving bare patches down to the soil, or gets scattered onto the lawn! Just curious... They either have a lot of staff, or they don by DavesBonnyLass

Thoughts on Nesting Boxes
usually raised  their family in the honeysuckle and as far as I'm aware, this was successful. No bird has used the nesting box since and I am beginning to think that hedges and thick shrubs are less conspicuous than some types of nesting boxes. What are the experiences by daydaisy
