Slugs may destroy my life
length of guttering upside down (making a nice dark cool place for slugs to shelter during the daytime), pop outside before you go to work, and either scrape them off into a bucket of salty water, or chop in half and leave as a buffet for the birds. Don by Rampant climber

I thank my lucky stars that we really don't have a slug or snail problem so my hosta's always put on a fab display. I think encouraging the birds into the garden helps us. I have grown great hostas in pots for four years now with no slug problems by N Freeland.Somerset

to be here as we do. I belong to rescue groups for Bats and hedgehogs and our cats have grown up with them and a variety of birds without ever harming one.Also cat's in a rural enviroment kepp down mice and other vermin, which I might also add have a right by Ruth Varley

Slugs and snails
................ I've discovered that crusts of seeded type wholemeal breads- especially soya & linseed- are slug magnets! On sunday 20+ were either stamped on, smaller ones, & the larger removed e/where. Poor birds never get a look in & saves me going out at night by Lorraine Sharp

Invasion of the slippery slugs
they cause and their use as a food source for some birds, hedgehogs and other wildlife - mostly the former I think !!! They do seem to be thriving this year given the rain, rain and then more rain !! We have a very varied wildlife environment in and around by susan howard2

to you.What colour do you like? purple, silver green lime foliage even variagated. Does it flower and when. Do you want to encourage wild life/birds, so look for berries and leaves all year. Scented or not. Ask gardeners at these places any questions you by threecliffs

How tidy is your garden?
a week. I say if you do not mind it, go with it. Birds Bees and Butterfies love it.My sister in law says of hers she's not cutting grass as it only grows. Have thought of taking up some lawn but it only takes 20 to30 mins to cut.is it less work. than by Woodgreen wonderboy
